About Janet Valeri

A longtime educator in New England, Janet Valeri began her postsecondary education at Fitchburg State University, where she earned a BS in education, focusing on elementary education and psychology. Janet Valeri stayed on at Fitchburg State to earn a master’s in elementary education, concurrent to which she taught third-grade classes at Mount Pleasant School in Nashua, New Hampshire. She continued to teach there after earning her master’s degree.

Janet Valeri later earned certification as a school principal along with a CAGS at Rivier University, where she received the Mary Jane Benoit Educator of the Year Award. She moved on to serve as assistant principal at Mount Pleasant/Broad Street School and then principal of Amherst Street School, before returning to Rivier to earn certification as a School Superintendent. Throughout this period, she built a reputation as an effective principal, overseeing increases in student achievement and student attendance rates.

In 2008, Janet Valeri was selected to serve as Strategic Planning Coordinator for the Nashua School District, and assumed her current position as principal of the Ledge Street School, the only Leader in Me Lighthouse School recognized by Franklin Covey in New England. Between 2010 and 2013, she served in the first and second Statewide Consortium of Educator Effectiveness
